Over reliance on the market economy casts a shadow in Hong Kong. A visually impaired friend works at a sheltered workshop (the last of its kind) and the owner decides to close down their workplace without consulting them. The government planned poorly and couldn’t re-assign appropriate jobs nor sustainable benefits to these marginalized people. The market is harsh to the disabled but “people” don’t have to be. Here’s a petition you can sign to show you care.
