2026 Easter Letter
1 Corinthians 15:20 (NRSV)
“But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died.”
To the brothers, sisters, and members of Blessed Ministry Community Church (BMCC):
We hope you are all well. May the grace and peace of the Lord be ever with you, and may you find strength and joy in His presence, in seasons of ease and of struggle alike.
In this Easter season, we are reminded once again: new life has been revealed, and a new direction is unfolding. We thank the Lord, who keeps the church hopeful through change, and renewed within hope.
I. Thirty-four years of grace, keeping our original heart
We thank the Lord that, through every shifting era, BMCC has held fast to its witness of love and justice, continuing to be a spiritual home for LGBTQ+ Christians — a place where we can truly love God and love one another. We give thanks for the Lord’s leading, and for the company, watchfulness, and support of each of you along the way.
II. Guidance and renewal for a new phase
We thank the Lord for sending Pastor Timothy to serve as our advisor, helping us restructure the Council of Co-Workers and our administrative procedures, and rework the direction of the 101–301 courses. All of this is not merely renewal — it is an invitation for more of us to take part in service, to build community, to fulfill one another, and to share together in Christ’s mission.
III. Upcoming ministries and an invitation
In the coming months, the church has many rich ministries and activities. We invite all of you to take part and to support them:
- April 11 — “Nonviolent Communication Workshop” at Open Arms Counselling Centre (Counselling series)
- April 25 — “Reform of Sexual Offences Law: A Dialogue between Survivor Experience, Community, and Law”
- April 26 — “Knowing the Church” 101 course
- April 30 — 1946 screening and post-film discussion, co-hosted with the HKU Department of Gender Studies
- May 10 — Anthropology Board Game Day, co-hosted with the CUHK Department of Anthropology
- May 16 — IDAHOT (International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia) street station in Causeway Bay
- May 17 — “Knowing Yourself” 201 course (four sessions)
- May 31 — Pickleball Trial Day
A preview of what is ahead:
- July — BMCC’s 34th Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration
- October — The Annual Retreat
May we, through service and connection, more deeply experience the love of the community and the leading of the Lord.
IV. Praying for one another, giving thanks together, fulfilling one another
We thank our co-workers and brothers and sisters for the wholehearted ways you bear up the internal and external ministries, caring for one another and making the church a community of life and hope. Let us walk together in the Lord, standing for love, for justice, and for our faith.
Please also remember in your prayers the church’s renewed direction and the restructuring of our co-workers, and intercede for each of our upcoming activities — that every preparation and every step taken together may bear the grace of the Lord.
“We walk together along the way, building up the body of the Lord in love.”
— Ephesians 4:16 (paraphrase)
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all, now and forever.
In the Lord,
Pastor Hong
