After years of LGBTQ+ ministry in Malaysia, Good Samaritan Kuala Lumpur (GSKL) extends its arms of care once again — hoping to create and bring a greater dream and vision for the community.
As Malaysia’s only openly welcoming and affirming church for all people, GSKL has lit up many lives in the past thirteen years. We sincerely share with you “The Roof” Project: a place that is equal, inclusive, diverse, and vibrant!
“The Roof” Project aims to create a safe space and a shelter through building a culture of love and justice — an inclusive community where LGBTQ+ people are not abandoned. Our fundraising goal for The Roof is RM 700,000 in total (approximately USD 172,000 or HKD 1,330,000).

Why “The Roof” Project Is Needed
The Malaysian government has been actively suppressing sexual minorities in recent years. Politicians, allegedly seeking votes, have targeted LGBTQ+ people locally — confusing the public into hostility under religious banners and diverting attention from their own governance failures. Every cent you contribute helps locally threatened individuals or NGOs receive urgent support. This isn’t only for LGBTQ+ people — anyone working for human rights is also in dire straits. The Roof Project is a place that can focus everyone’s strength to protect them from public-opinion pressure and attack.
What The Roof Provides:
• Queer emergency shelter
• Satir psychology, counselling, and therapy: 1:1 and group session space
• Self-development classes and workshops
• Enneagram workshops
• Meditation retreats
• Event space for seminars, gatherings, etc.
