Sermon

Suicide Prevention Sunday. Lead pastor on John 13:8-14. The WHO notes that those who consider suicide are most often saved by friends and family, not professionals. Jesus washed even Judas’s feet — true love embraces both the lovable and the unlovable parts of the beloved.

Lead pastor on James 4:1-10. The roots of harassment and sexual harassment lie in inner desires, envy, and strife — friendship with the world that is enmity with God. Where the church practises love-in-communication, greed and self-loathing diminish. Examine your needs; tell God ‘I need You.’

Rev. Ngeo Boon Lin on Luke 24:13-35. Jesus walks alongside the disciples but they fail to recognise him. Anywhere we are willing to recognise can be Emmaus. The disciples grew from a handful to millions through love — Hongkongers, do not forget our own blessings.

Eric Sin on Ephesians 4:25-5:2, framed by the US #Churchtoo movement. If a community fails to practise love and justice, asking only the victims to forgive their abusers becomes complicity. True forgiveness needs collective action — only honest dialogue brings real healing.

Dr. Rose Wu on Matthew 25:31-46. At the Final Judgment, what God cares about most is our love and concern for the weak. Dr. Rose Wu on Matthew 25:31-46. What God cares about at the final judgment is our love and care for the least — sheep and goats are not entirely good or entirely bad. A queer-theology reading of the parable invites practical acts of neighbour-love.
