Dr. Chen Wen-shan, Assistant Professor at the Department of Religion at Yu Shan Theological Seminary (Taiwan), visits BMCC to speak on Matthew 15:21-38 — Jesus and the Canaanite woman. Dr. Chen has been a leading scholar of feminist theology, disability theology, restorative justice, and the religious right in Taiwan. She was a founding signatory of Taiwan’s interfaith marriage-equality petition and wrote the preface to Rev. Ngeo Boon Lin’s books.

BMCC’s Gender Diversity Workshop Series, funded by the Equal Opportunities (Sexual Orientation) Funding Scheme. Four batches of three-session workshops led by Dr. Jason Ho (HKU Faculty of Education), centred on interactive activities, role-play, and forum theatre. Topics include the challenges social ideologies pose to sexual minorities; participants deepen their understanding of diversity, equality, and civil society.

BMCC at the 2017 Hong Kong Pride Parade — Saturday, 25 November, from Victoria Park to Edinburgh Place. The theme: ‘Turn the Wind, Shift the Position — Bid Discrimination Farewell.’ BMCC calls on the government to enact sexual orientation discrimination protection and a gender recognition scheme without surgical preconditions.
