Lead pastor on John 1:14 (the Word became flesh). Christmas remembers the Incarnation — light entering our lives. Believers are called to enter the world like Christ, caring for the marginalised — as BMCC has done with Egyptian refugee John and the 2014 Umbrella Movement.

Lead pastor and Ken Hui on 1 Thessalonians 3:12 — love that increases and abounds toward all. In a world where HIV-positive people still face stigma and discrimination, the church is called to be a community of acceptance, walking-with, and mutual support.

Shirley Lam on 1 Peter 5:5. The ‘do-as-told-without-asking’ obedience inherited from church-school culture is anti-intellectual and suppresses thought. The Greek words rendered ‘submit’ carry rich meanings; passages telling women or slaves to submit need careful contextual re-reading rather than uncritical inheritance.

Lead pastor on Acts 20:35 — ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ In the world’s logic this is absurd, but in the spiritual one it is exact. Sunday afternoon worship is itself an offering: what we bring is not animals but our whole lives.
